Key Understanding

Sun and MoonThe sun and the moon are signs for appointed times
Gen 1:14 And Alahiym said, “Let lights come to be in the expanse of the shamiym (heavens) to separate the day from the night, and let them be for signs and appointed times, and for days and years,
Gen 1:15 and let them be for lights in the expanse of the shamiym to give light on the earth.” And it came to be so.
Gen 1:16 And Alahiym made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night, and the stars.
Gen 1:17 And Alahiym set them in the expanse of the shamiym to give light on the earth,
Gen 1:18 and to rule over the day and over the night, and to separate the light from the darkness. And Alahiym saw that it was good.
Rev 12:1 And a great sign was seen in the shamiym: a woman clad with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars.
DayBegins at sunset/evening
— Gen 1:5 And Alahiym called the light ‘day’ and the darkness He called ‘night.’ And there came to be evening and there came to be morning, the first day.
— Lev 23:5 ‘In the first new moon, on the fourteenth day of the new moon, between the evenings, is the Phasach to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄
— Lev 23:32 ‘It is a Shabath of rest to you, and you shall afflict your beings. On the ninth day of the month at evening, from evening to evening, you observe your Shabath.”
— 24 hours in a day
Year~365.256 days in 1 year
Equilux— On this day, there are roughly 12 hours of sunlight and 12 hours of moonlight
Spring— First season of the year
— Happens on the first new moon after the equilux (see above bullet)
*Man-made calendars*Man-made calendars (e.g., Gregorian calendar) do not have Yahuah in mind. Yahuah does not begin His year on January 1; His year starts on the 1st of Abiyb. Although the 1st of Abiyb falls on April 12, 2021, at sunset, we cannot look to 2022 and pencil the 1st of Abyib on April 12, 2022 because the Gregorian calendar works on a 365-day framework, essentially ignoring the extra quarter (1/4) of a day that it takes the Earth to complete its full orbit. It attempts to make up for this oversight by adding in a leap day every fourth year. The Appointed Times of Yahuah do not fall on fixed dates. Aside from the weekly Shabath, the calendar dates of the Appointed Times of Yahuah change slightly from year to year based on when the Earth completes its orbit around the sun, and then the next new moon marks the 1st of Abiyb or the valid new year. Therefore, each year we have to calculate the 1st of Abyib. We have to trust Yahuah and use the sun and moon to align with His perfect timing. Gen 1:14 And Alahiym said, “Let lights come to be in the expanse of the shamiym (heavens) to separate the day from the night, and let them be for signs and appointed times, and for days and years

Steps to Calculate the Appointed Times of Yahuah

Note: This example is for 2021

  1. Use a tool such as TimeandDate.com that will allow you to see the moon’s phase on any given day.
    • For this example, we used New York, NY, as the location and 2021 as the year.
  2. Find the Equilux
    • If you’re using TimeandDate.com, use the ‘sunrise & sunset’ view/tab

Note: You can typically go to March and search for the day that will have equal day and night (see screenshot below).

Look at March 1 under the ‘sunrise/sunset’ column, which shows the sunrise at 6:29 am and sunset at 5:47 pm. On March 2, sunrise is at 6:28 am, and sunset at 5:48 pm. On March 3, sunrise is at 6:26 am, and sunset is at 5:49 pm. We can see that we are still gaining daylight (i.e., the sun is rising earlier), and we are also getting close to the equilux; 12 hours of daylight and 12 hours of darkness. If we jump to March 16, the sunrise is at 7:05 am, and sunset is at 7:04 pm; this is the equilux day, equal light, and the day in which the earth completes its orbit around the sun. Note: The daylength of March 16th is 11:58:35. This is the closest we can get to the day length of 12 hours without the daylength going over 12 hours as it does on March 17th.

3. Find the next ‘new moon’ after the equilux.

For 2021 in New York, NY, the 1st of Abiyb is on the calendar date April 12, 2021 at sunset.

In this example, why is the 1st of Abiyb on April 12, 2021 and not April 11, 2021?

The reason the 1st of Abiyb is on April 12, 2021 not April 11, 2021 is because the day begins at sunset (evening) per scripture. Although the new moon (0% visibility) occurs on the calendar date April 11, 2021, the new moon arrives at 10:30 pm on April 11, 2021 (see picture below). So the new moon arrived after sunset (7:31 pm) on April 11, 2021, and we cannot begin a new day within a day. Remember sunset marks the beginning of a new day. Therefore the Abiyb 1 begins at sunset on the calendar date April 12, 2021.

New Moon Arrival on April 11th at 10:30 pm:

Sunset at 7:31 pm on April 11th, so the New Moon arrived roughly 3 hours after sunset.

Now that we have identified the 1st of Abiyb as April 12, 2021, we can use Scripture and addition to determine when the Appointed Times of Yahuah occur

UPDATE **IMPORTANT note for calculating First Fruits** to keep the Witness of Yahusha, there must be at least 3 days and 3 nights between Phasach and First Fruits; aligning with the Witness of Yahusha dying on Phasach and raising from the grave.

Scripture: And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 spoke to Mashah, saying,
“Speak to the children of Yashara’Al, and you shall say to them, ‘When you come into the land which I give you, and shall reap its harvest, then you shall bring a sheaf of the first-fruits of your harvest to the priest.
‘And he shall wave the sheaf before 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, for your acceptance. On the morrow after the Shabath the priest waves it.
‘And on that day when you wave the sheaf, you shall prepare a male lamb a year old, a perfect one, as a burnt offering to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄,
and its grain offering: two-tenths of fine flour mixed with oil, an offering made by fire to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, a sweet fragrance, and its drink offering: one-fourth of a hin of wine.
‘And you do not eat bread or roasted grain or fresh grain until the same day that you have brought an offering to your Alahiym – a law forever throughout your generations in all your dwellings. (Lev 23:9-14)

3 days and 3 nights between Phasach and First Fruits
YahuChanan 19:30 So when 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏 took the sour wine He said, “It has been accomplished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.
YahuChanan 19:31 Therefore, since it was the Preparation Day, that the bodies should not remain on the stake on the Shabath – for that Shabath was a high one – the Yahudiym asked Pilate to have their legs broken, and that they be taken away.
YahuChanan 19:32 Therefore the soldiers came and broke the legs of the first, and of the other who was impaled with Him,
YahuChanan 19:33 but when they came to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏 and saw that He was already dead, they did not break His legs.
YahuChanan 19:34 But one of the soldiers pierced His side with a spear, and instantly blood and water came out.
YahuChanan 19:35 And he who has seen has witnessed, and his witness is true. And he knows that he is speaking the truth, in order that you might believe.
YahuChanan 19:36 For this took place in order for the Scripture to be filled: “Not one of His bones shall be broken.”
YahuChanan 19:37 And again another Scripture says, “They shall look on Him whom they pierced.”
YahuChanan 19:38 And after this, YahuSaph of Ramath, being a taught one of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏, but secretly, for fear of the Yahudiym, asked Pilate that he might take the body of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏, and Pilate gave permission. Therefore he came and took the body of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏.
YahuChanan 19:39 And Nikdimon, who at first came to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏 by night, also came, bringing a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about a hundred pounds.
YahuChanan 19:40 Then they took the body of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏, and bound it in linen wrappings with the spices, as was the habit of the Yahudiym for burial.
YahuChanan 19:41 And at the place where He was impaled there was a garden, and in the garden a fresh tomb in which no one had yet been laid.
YahuChanan 19:42 There, then, because of the Preparation Day of the Yahudiym, they laid 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏, because the tomb was near.
YahuChanan 20:1 And on one of the Shabaths Mariym from Magdala came early to the tomb, while it was still dark, and saw that the stone had been removed from the tomb.
YahuChanan 20:2 So she ran and came to Shamau’un Kaph, and to the other taught one whom 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏 loved, and said to them, “They have taken the Master out of the tomb, and we do not know where they laid Him.”
YahuChanan 20:3 Then Kaph and the other taught one went out, and they were going to the tomb,
YahuChanan 20:4 and the two were running together, but the other taught one outran Kaph and came to the tomb first.
YahuChanan 20:5 And stooping down he saw the linen wrappings lying, but he did not go in.
YahuChanan 20:6 Then Shamau’un Kaph came, following him, and went into the tomb. And he saw the linen wrappings lying,
YahuChanan 20:7 and the cloth which had been on His head, not lying with the linen wrappings, but folded up in a place by itself.
YahuChanan 20:8 So, then, the other taught one, who came to the tomb first, also went in. And he saw and believed.
YahuChanan 20:9 For they did not yet know the Scripture, that He has to rise again from the dead.
YahuChanan 20:10 Therefore the taught ones went away again, by themselves.
YahuChanan 20:11 But Mariym was standing outside by the tomb weeping. Then as she wept, she stooped down to the tomb,
YahuChanan 20:12 and saw two messengers in white sitting, one at the head and the other at the feet, where the body of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏 had been laid.
YahuChanan 20:13 And they said to her, “Woman, why do you weep?” She said to them, “Because they took away my Master, and I do not know where they laid Him.”
YahuChanan 20:14 And having said this, she turned around and saw 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏 standing, but she did not know that it was 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏.
YahuChanan 20:15 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏 said to her, “Woman, why do you weep? Whom do you seek?” Thinking He was the gardener, she said to Him, “Master, if You have carried Him away, say to me where You put Him, and I shall take Him away.”
YahuChanan 20:16 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏 said to her, “Mariym!” She turned and said to Him, “Rabuniy!” (which means Master).
YahuChanan 20:17 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏 said to her, “Do not hold on to Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father. But go to My brothers and say to them, ‘I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My Alahiym and your Alahiym.’ ”
YahuChanan 20:18 Mariym from Magdala came announcing to the taught ones that she had seen the Master, and that He had told her this.
YahuChanan 20:19 When therefore it was evening on that day, the first day of the week, and when the doors were shut where the taught ones met, for fear of the Yahudiym, 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏 came and stood in the midst, and said to them, “Peace to you.”
YahuChanan 20:20 And having said this, He showed them His hands and His side. The taught ones therefore rejoiced when they saw the Master.
YahuChanan 20:21 Then 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏 said to them again, “Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.”
YahuChanan 20:22 And having said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, “Receive the Set-apart Spirit.

Why is there much confusion regarding when the Appointed Times of Yahuah take place?

Ha’Shatan is the great deceiver and seeks to confuse as many people as possible so that they reject Yahuah and His commandments. Just as Ha’Shatan told Adam and Chuah in the Garden of Audan that they didn’t have to listen to Yahuah, Ha’Shatan is doing the same today. For example, Ha’Shatan confuses people into believing that they no longer have to follow the commands of Yahuah and can have everlasting life. Ha’Shatan has convinced many that the Appointed Times of Yahuah are “old” and have been done away with in favor of man-made ‘holidays.’ People all around the world reject the Appointed Times of Yahuah in favor of pagan days, such as Christmas, Halloween, Day of the Dead, Thanksgiving, E*ster, and Independence Day. Ha’Shatan loves to see man reject Yahuah!

Examples of ‘stumbling blocks’ that exist today that serve as confusion regarding the Appointed Times of Yahuah:

Social media is one of the main sources of confusion. Whether it is YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, TicTok, or other platforms, there is no shortage of misinformation leaving people confused as to when the Appointed Times begin and end.

Yahuah Takes His Appointed Times Seriously

Yahuah does not take pleasure in ‘holidays’ – He hates them! Yahuah commanded us to keep His Appointed Times and we must show up on time so that we can be blameless before Yahuah.

“My being hates your New Moons and your appointed times, they are a trouble to Me, I am weary of bearing them.

“And when you spread out your hands, I hide My eyes from you; even though you make many prayers, I do not hear. Your hands have become filled with blood.

“Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean; put away the evil of your doings from before My eyes. Stop doing evil!

YashaYahu 1:14-16

Ha’Shatan does not want you to make it to the Appointed Times of Yahuah

Ha’Shatan takes pleasure in man’s disobedience because he knows that if he can get mankind to follow him and partake in his way of lawlessness, he can create his own army of lawlessness to do his work in discouraging mankind to guard the ways of Yahuah. Moreover, Ha’Shatan knows he will die and he wants to take as many people as possible into the fiery pit with him at the end of days.

And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to fight with the remnant of her seed, those guarding the commands of Alahiym and possessing the witness of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏 Messiah.

Chazun (Rev) 12:17

And he opened his mouth in blasphemies against Alahiym, to blaspheme His Name, and His Tent, and those dwelling in the shamiym.
And it was given to him to fight with the set-apart ones and to overcome them. And authority was given to him over every tribe and tongue and nation.

Chazun (Rev) 13:6-7

And he leads astray those dwelling on the earth because of those signs which he was given to do before the beast, saying to those dwelling on the earth to make an image to the beast who was wounded by the sword, yet lived.
And there was given to him to give spirit to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause to be killed as many as would not worship the image of the beast.

Chazun (Rev) 13:14-15
